Most progressive lenses are calculated from an average “model eye,” a set of standard values that, in reality, matches only a small fraction of actual wearers. Rodenstock takes a different starting point. Using its DNEye Scanner and one of the industry’s largest biometric eye databases, Rodenstock measures your eyes individually, then applies over 145 years of German optical engineering (the company was founded in Munich in 1877) to translate that data into a lens made for your eyes specifically, not the average.
